Procurement Specialist will manage multiple suppliers within a global supply chain team and be expected to effectively communicate and negotiate with their suppliers.

Additional tasks such at launching request for quotes and purchase orders account reconciliation/payment. Managing and manipulating schedules and driving corrective action at the suppliers for best effort deliveries.

This role will engage with many internal and external customers that require communicating with a sense of urgency at various levels of leadership.

Holistic account management of the assigned suppliers is expected which includes driving positive results through creation, monitoring, and driving key performance indicators and metrics for better performance.

The individual will be required to work individually and as a team to achieve organizational goals and milestones.


Hybrid:
Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader. This role could work hybrid from Rockford, IL or Windsor Locks, CT.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Carries out Procurement processes, standards, and operational plans, including RFPs, negotiation preparations, and cost analysis.
  • Responds to client inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Carries out activities associated with purchasing goods, materials, supplies, and services to ensure terms are in the organization's best interest.
  • Prepares purchase orders, approves payments, and negotiates prices to ensure the procurement process goes smoothly, under general guidance.
  • Compiles price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to provide input on reasonable prices.
  • Prepares request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages to take on new accounts.
  • Monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations. Contacts suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries to ensure resolution of problems such as shortages and missed or late deliveries.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the relationship with a specific supplier within a commodity. Directs and manages all schedules, and purchase orders for the client account or the product family.
  • Ensures product is delivered on time, meets quality standards, and at the right cost.
  • May perform delivery assurance responsibilities.
  • Travel requirement up to 10% depending on customer need.

Qualifications/ Experience Needed:


  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience
    or **an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
    or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience working in the aerospace industry or directly for Collins Aerospace Experience working with supply chain
  • Technical aptitude, ability to read blueprints, drawings & designs
  • Project management exposure
  • SAP experience
  • Microsoft Office Suite tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
