Summary:


The Development Associate will provide project management and analytical support for a variety of development projects across multiple segments (renewables, low carbon fuels, and thermal) and across multiple disciplines including due diligence, pricing, strategy, and structuring.


This position will be involved in every aspect of energy project development and financing, including new project prospecting and permitting, revenue contract negotiation, and financial modeling and analysis.

  • Coordinate and support commercial pricing strategies for development opportunities and support preparation of proposals
  • Prepare presentations for communicating project status and requesting approval for funding across all levels of JERA Americas and JERA HQ
  • Lead project management for the development efforts to the project pipeline, including project schedules, budgets, internal reporting,
  • Support existing and develop new analysis tools related to the economics of developing low carbon markets, and project specific financial models
  • Work across functional groups such as Legal, Risk Management, Accounting to drive projects forward and ensure daily operation of indevelopment projects
  • Provide ongoing tracking and analysis of industry trends to inform development and project strategies and to help identify new targets
  • Support and help manage relationships with strategic counterparties, including development partners, offtakers, suppliers, etc.

Qualifications:


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, economics, finance, or other analytical filed with advanced math required
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work or internship experience in a finance, development, or transactional role,
  • Salary will be commensurate with years and applicability of work experience

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master's or MBA
- energy industry experience


Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of energy markets, sustainability and environmental impacts
  • Experience in managing a budget and/or consultants to ensure project success
  • Strong computational and analytical skills
