Taylor Visual Impressions (a Taylor company) is seeking a Van Driver in the New York, NY area.

This position is responsible for operating a van primarily to deliver or pick up merchandise or to deliver packages within a specified area.

This may include the use of automatic routing or location device along with loading and unloading the vehicle.

Responsibilities Include:

Serves as key transportation provider by driving company vehicle to pick up and deliver supplies, documents, and finished products to various destinations.
Load vehicle and check shipments (content) to ensure that the products ordered are correct according to quantity and size.
Load and unload product following appropriate safety lifting procedures and any required safety equipment.
Operate the vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.
Drive defensively and in a manner that does not damage the vehicle or its contents.
Read and interpret maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient route, monitor traffic and weather conditions.
Inspect and maintain the vehicle for defects before and after trips and report any discrepancies indicating truck condition to supervisor; keep vehicle clean, inside and out, and fueled.
Maintain vehicle mileage log, maintenance records, fuel purchase records, and vehicle condition reports.
Provide other assistance in production when not required to drive, such as packing, shipping, receiving and other production related dutie

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum education required for this position is a high school diploma or GED; plus 3 to 5 years of driving experience.
Must be at least 21 years of age, have a current valid driver's license and a good driving record; Class B driver's license preferred.
Requires the ability to read general correspondences and memorandums, directions, map or map scale (operate a GPS), short correspondence, and memos.
Must pass a Department of Transportation screening and be issued a DOT Medical Certification.
Must complete inhouse forklift training and certification.
Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Good communication skills required for contacts with others within the organization and outside customer contacts and to work cooperatively with individuals outside the Company that are the recipients of products or services.
