About New Hampshire Job Corps (NHJC)


Job Corps is the largest nationwide residential career training program in the country and has been operating for more than 50 years.

The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, and assists them with obtaining employment.

Job Corps has trained and educated over two million individuals since 1964.


At Job Corps, students have access to room and board while they learn skills in specific training areas for up to three years.

In addition to helping students complete their education, obtain career technical skills and gain employment, Job Corps also provides transitional support services, such as help finding employment, housing, child care, and transportation.

Job Corps graduates either enter the workforce or an apprenticeship, go on to higher education, or join the military.

Schedule:


Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm
NHJC has an exciting opening in our Manchester location for an Student Recruiter. In this role you will be responsible for the recruitment and arrival coordination of Job Corps students. Provides transitional support and placement services leading to quality full-time jobs, higher education or advanced training. Ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data.


What you will be accomplishing in our team environment

  • Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures no manipulation of student data.
  • Ensures Contracts meets or exceeds DOL/Company performance goals.
  • Supports educational and related placement goals for assigned students.
  • Works closely with community agencies, employment services, high schools, trade and technical schools and other agencies to inform prospective applicants about the Job Corps program.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Job Corps Center and community agencies. Develops and maintains referral linkages in the community.
  • Participates in job development activities which led to student success.
  • Conducts comprehensive screening procedures to determine applicants' eligibility and suitability for the Job Corps Program.
  • Secures and evaluates applicants' behavioral, medical and educational records.
  • Conducts Center tours and prearrival visits and meetings.
  • Provides personalized career counseling and evaluates student performance.
  • Develops, monitors and updates student transition plans as required.
  • Plans, prioritizes and organizes assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.
  • Mentors, monitors and models the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.
  • Provides highquality supervision and management for the student population. Takes swift and appropriate action and positively influences student behavior. Shows respect and courtesy to students and holds them accountable for their actions and behavior.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field from an accredited school
  • Or an Associate's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field from an accredited school and 2 years of related experience
  • Valid instate Driver's license and meet Company insurability requirements
  • Department of Labor approval required
  • Ability to speak and read the English language
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions and ask questions when unclear on what to do.
  • Work effectively as a team member.
  • Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
