Scheduler & Constituent Liaison


NY State Assembly member Grace Lee's District Office seeks a highly motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented individual to serve as Scheduler & Constituent Liaison.


Assembly member Lee represents District 65, which encompasses much of Lower Manhattan including the Financial District, Seaport, Chinatown Lower East Side, and parts of SoHo, NoHo, Little Italy, and the East Village.

Assembly member Lee's agenda is focused on community safety, affordable housing, environmental conservation, funding for public schools, the expansion of supportive services, and providing excellent constituent services.

The Scheduler & Constituent Liaison is responsible for overseeing office scheduling and completing constituent casework.

The role will require careful attention to detail, strong communication and computer skills, and the ability to juggle multiple competing priorities and timelines and problem-solve.

Daily work and responsibilities will vary, but some of the primary responsibilities include:


  • Maintaining the Assembly member's schedule and daily activities in collaboration with the Deputy Chief of Staff
  • Arranging and maintaining the complex office schedule, keeping the schedule organized, and keeping track of relevant details
  • Managing the office scheduling processes for all incoming event invitations and meeting
  • Participating in and staffing the Assemblymember at inperson and virtual community
meetings and events, including some evenings and weekends on a structured schedule

  • Acting as a main point of contact on NYCHA housing cases
  • Resolving and managing constituent issues and responding to casework correspondence
  • Interacting with government agencies, organizations, members of the community, and other elected officials
  • Entering constituent requests into a database
  • Maintaining uptodate files on issues
  • Assisting with office and community events
  • Supervising interns
Additional duties and responsibilities will be based on the individual's strengths and interests. This position reports to the Deputy Chief of Staff.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or Associate's degree with comparable job experience
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage tasks on simultaneous projects, prioritize, meet deadlines, and maintain consistent attention to details
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent written and public speaking abilities
  • Previous experience working or interning in an elected official's office or working in public service, e.g., case management, community organizing, electoral campaign, or nonprofit work experience, is a plus
  • Previous experience in or a passion for affordable housing issues is strongly preferred
  • Flexibility about work hours, available to work evenings and weekends on occasion
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fastpaced, teamoriented environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to speak before large groups
  • Spanish fluency is strongly preferred

Benefits:


  • Compensation is commensurate with experience; $45,000 $50,000 per year.

$45, $50,000.00 per year
