Job Duties

This position will:

  • Collaborate in the implementation and compliance of Sport Betting Operators (SBO's) by participating in planning meetings to ensure that all milestones are met, and all technical requirements are complied with in accordance with regulations.
  • Assist in the administration and compliance of the Central Monitoring Computer System by participating in planning meetings, to ensure that all milestones are met, and all technical requirements are complied with in accordance of the regulations.
  • Assist with the implementation of gaming system policies, procedures, and standards and ensure their compliance.
  • Verify stability, interoperability, portability, security, and scalability of Sports Betting and Gaming technology and systems.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend system modifications, and develop policies for data governance in collaboration with the Gaming Compliance team, Lottery IT, SBO's, and Casinos.
  • Assist in the review and approval of all SBO Change Management submissions that require Gaming Compliance approvals.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between the Gaming Compliance team, Lottery IT, SBO's, and Casinos by communicating with them to assist them with understanding specific system requirements.
  • Coordinate and perform indepth tests.
  • Perform deepdive insight analysis to understand product and user needs.
  • Ability to articulate technical information clearly and simply to peers on the Gaming Compliance team.
  • Provide orientation and training to endusers.
  • Provide support ensuring the proper documentation of problem events, perform root cause analysis, problem/defect resolution and implementation of corrective measures.
  • Review and Analyze annual Security Assessment reports for SBO's and Casinos.
  • Work closely with SBO's to ensure all required software has been tested prior to being launched and complies with Virginia Gaming regulations.

  • Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.
  • Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers.
  • Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability.
  • Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures.
  • Document test procedures to ensure replicability and compliance with standards.
  • Communicate results of system reviews, testing, and quality control management with the Virginia Lottery regulatory team.
  • Prepare reports for leadership that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data. Create appropriate data literacy guides to help the Gaming Compliance team be able to interpret the data.
  • Keep management apprised of system issues and problems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited 4year college or university in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience with development of information technology support or regulatory compliance required.

Additional Considerations

  • Experience in the gaming industry and sports betting preferred.
  • General knowledge of various sports, leagues and governing bodies preferred.
