- Prepare concise mental health reports summarizing assessments and interventions.
- Consult with teachers and professionals on educational, social, and psychological concerns.
- Provide practical suggestions for managing challenging student behaviors.
- Deliver mental health services to enhance the educational experience for referred students.
- Implement counseling services as per IEP indications.
- Offer guidance to students, parents, and professionals on addressing social, emotional, and learning issues.
- Collaborate with community resources to access necessary services for students and act as a liaison between the District and external agencies.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams and Student Study Teams as required.
- Complete documentation related to special education regulations and district procedures.
- Assist in monitoring the progress of Educationally Mental Health Services students both within and outside the District.
- Follow directives from supervisors related to mental health provision.
- Adhere to State Education Code and District Board Policies.
- Demonstrate proficiency in writing clear assessment reports understandable by teachers, students, and parents.
- Possess knowledge of special education legal requirements.
- Ensure assessments align with specified timelines.
- Effectively engage with multi-cultural students, parents, staff, and administrators, utilizing facilitation and conflict resolution skills.
- Understand various agencies supporting special education students and families.
- Have a solid grasp of child development stages and interventions for students requiring additional support.
- Model effective Student Study Team principles and the Director's expectations.
- California Pupil Personnel Credential with authorization in school psychology.
- Master's or Doctorate degree in school psychology or social work.
- Ability to prepare comprehensive verbal and written assessment reports.
- Assess speech and language impairments using various tests and instruments.
- Create individualized IEPs, speech exercise programs, and learning materials for students.
- Evaluate test results and background information to diagnose and plan treatment for speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Instruct students on communication techniques and refer them to additional services when required.
- Collaborate with teachers and medical staff on speech and hearing topics.
- Provide guidance to parents on enhancing their child's skills at home.
- Prepare progress reports and annual assessments for students.
- Participate in conferences, training, or research to share knowledge on speech disorder treatments.
- Proficient in assessing and treating physical and mental dysfunctions.
- Knowledgeable about English language structure and content.
- Understanding the principles and techniques for diagnosing and treating various conditions.
- Demonstrating expertise in curriculum design, teaching methods, and training effects measurement.
- Several competencies, including communication skills, deductive and inductive reasoning, problem sensitivity, and more.
- Hold a valid California Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential.
- Preferably possess a Master's degree and have at least two years of related experience.

Description
School Psychologist
The role of the School Psychologist is to evaluate special education students needing mental health services and to continue providing support to students with disabilities previously served under AB 3632.
The evaluation aims to determine eligibility and the appropriate level of mental health assistance. Services, if needed, will be included in the student's IEP, detailing the specific delivery of services, mental health goals, and objectives. This position serves as a link between school staff and the Director of Special Education, offering consultation and expertise to ensure compliance and enhance the learning process.
Speech-Language Pathologist
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will assess and treat children with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. They will conduct evaluations, tests, and examinations to determine the type and degree of impairments, tailored to each student’s needs. Development and implementation of IEPs for various disorders will be a key responsibility along with monitoring student progress and adjusting treatments accordingly.
