Located at the picturesque 300+ acre Myrick Conservation Center in the rolling hills of the Brandywine Valley countryside in southern Chester County, Brandywine Red Clay Alliance has an immediate and rewarding opportunity to make a difference working in the environmental conservation and education field.

This position is a regular, part-time opportunity that reports to the Business Manager.

We are looking for a hard-working, detail-oriented Accounting Assistant/Bookkeeper to perform a variety of financial tasks.

These generally include (but are not limited to) responsibilities related to accounts payable, cash receipts, payroll processing, account reconciliations and the preparation of various financial reports.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions including yearend 1099 preparation.
• Prepare deposits and input all Cash Receipts into accounting system.
• Process and submit biweekly payroll to outside payroll service.
• Maintain an accurate and orderly filing system.
• Reconcile various GL accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis as assigned by the Business Manager.
• Assist Business Manager with annual budget preparation.
• Assist Business Manager in assembling data for annual audit.
• Other special requests as assigned.

Requirements:

• Business Degree or equivalent work experience as an Accounting Assistant or Accounting Clerk
• Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures.
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
• Experience with MS Excel and the workings of accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)
