Convertus is looking for a Full-Time Laborer in Manassas, VA

As a group, we process over 580,000 tonnes of residential organic waste annually and have built over 150 waste treatment facilities worldwide.

Our operations encompass 11 organic waste processing facilities in Canada and 2 in the United States, including our recently acquired Manassas, Virginia facility.

Since 1994, our Manassas facility has been transforming organic waste into premium compost, bolstered by a recent upgrade in October 2020, enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability.

Your Mission:


As a Laborer, your mission is to support our facility's safe and efficient operation by assisting with various tasks related to waste processing and facility maintenance.

You will work alongside our team to ensure the cleanliness and functionality of our facility, contributing to our commitment to the environment.


Here's what an ordinary day of work might look like:

  • Safely and efficiently operate skid steers, following all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Perform routine tasks to ensure optimal performance, cleanliness, and functionality of our facility.
  • Sort and process organic waste materials according to company guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including the disposal of organic waste materials.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.

This job is for you if:

  • You hold a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • You have at least 1 year of experience in a similar position.
  • You work well as a team and on your own and are reliable.
  • You are able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • You are open to learning, and not afraid to make mistakes / ask for feedback.
  • We are a drugfree workplace, and a preemployment drug screening is required.

Compensation package:

- $16 - $20 per hour based on experience.
