Description
Our office is looking for a medical assistant. This is a 30-40 hour position, which requires an energetic, organized individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.


Job Purpose:
Helps patients by providing clinical and business office assistance in the office.


Primary Functions:

  • Obtains pertinent clinical information including the patient's complaint, health history, and measurement of vital signs
  • Documenting all patientrelated communication and interventions in the patient's electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; authorizing drug refills as directed; telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies
  • Performs eye exams, EKG, Spirometry, ear irrigations.
  • Performs CLIAwaived lab tests, phlebotomy
  • Completes records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results
  • Always maintains HIPPA
  • Completes referrals
  • Check Out and provide appropriate information to patients
  • Answering phones and scheduling appointments
  • Complete prior authorization for tests
  • Processes incoming medical records to appropriate staff
  • Phlebotomy
  • Answering phones and scheduling appointments
  • Scan documents into EHR

Education/Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or GED equivalent is required.
  • 1 year of experience in a Medical Assisting role is preferred.
  • An active Phlebotomist or Paramedic may also be considered
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and standards of care
  • Knowledge of computerized information services (EMR) used in clinical management setting preferred
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Strong commitment to customer service and excellence in healthcare
  • Flexibility of scheduled hours
