*$1,000 Hiring Bonus,Additional $1,500 Spanish Speaking Bonus*QUALIFICATIONS Education & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GEDAt least 1 year of combined experience as.1) a consumer or family member of consumer who is in recovery from mental illness, and/ or2) a paid or volunteer work in a Mental Health/Social Service setting or in providing services to one or more mental health/social service consumers that qualifies the applicant for the Mental Health Aide/Assistant (MHA) status with the County Children's Mental Health System of CareESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSPosition SpecificPossess an understanding of the unique psychological and behavioral needs of children/youth and their families to promote healthy relationships and well-being and provide services in support of the permanency or placement stabilization processDevelop trusting relationships with the clients, birth parents, and/or caregivers; be accepting and non-judgmentalPositive role model to the family; interact with the children and parents in a patient and kind mannerAssist parents, utilizing Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) and/or other strength-based practices, with simple and practical strategies to help them confidently manage their children's behavior, prevent problems developing, and build strong, healthy relationshipsSupport parents in developing problem-solving skills, coping skills, and improved communication skills in order to resolve day-to-day crisesAssist families in identifying and sorting priorities, and to promote the utilization of community resourcesParticipate in developing attainable goals, and in implementing the actions stepsProvide support, case management, and crisis intervention services as required by the Agency, the County Children's Behavioral Health, and appropriate to the clients' needsCreate and maintain accurate documentation of client records in compliance with Medi-Cal (EPSDT) and all other relevant regulatory agencies. Progress notes and case records need to be maintained and kept updated after each interaction. Documentation adherence must meet Medi-Cal (EPSDT), other regulatory agencies, and SFF requirementsPossess specific cultural competence to work with diverse populations and communities; and demonstrate the ability to provide outreach to those communitiesWork professionally within collaborations with county, state, schools, and private agencies, participating in interdisciplinary treatment planningCommunicate effectively (verbally and written) with staff, clients, colleagues, community partners, and all levels of managementOrganize, perform, and maintain outcome measures, chart audits, and case files for compliance with all relevant regulatory agenciesProvide pertinent information to all authorized representatives of the childTravel required to support children and familiesSome assistance with transportation may be necessary for the clientsWork extended hours (including occasional weekend) when necessary to support children and families or when imposed deadlines need to be metMeet revenue and productivity standardsAgency SpecificPerforms all duties in a manner consistent with the principles and values of agency, while adhering to applicable professional codes of ethics, the agency's policies and procedures, contractor requirements, and regulatory requirements.Model and communicate appropriate positive attitudes toward the agency's Mission, Vision, and ValuesWork collaboratively with all agency programs and staff to provide support as neededUtilize and maintain calendar with all work-related details in order to manage time effectively and share calendar information with coworkersParticipate in on-going training to expand and develop professional skillsPerform other duties as necessary for the agency, as assignedEmployment At-WillEmployment at the Agency is terminable at-will, which means that employment may beterminated at any time, without cause or reason, by either the employee or the Agency.
