The JR286 Director of Global Logistics will collaborate with the Senior Director of Global Logistics in the planning and execution of our Global Transportation and Logistics.

This role has responsibility for developing and implementing a strategy for the organization as it relates to Logistics resulting in optimal cost, quality, and on-time delivery of all material movements throughout the globe with real-time data and information readily available to all key stakeholders.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with Supply Planning, Suppliers, Third Party Carriers/Brokers, and Private fleet operations to ensure customer service expectations are met.
  • Develop and build a logistics / transportation strategy, network and function within the organization.
  • Manage the transportation and logistics team.
  • Oversee the selection, contracting, and onboarding of new 3PL partners, freight forwarders and other logistics providers.
  • Negotiate freight rates/fix rate contracts, minimize the peak season rate increases.
  • Manage freight carrier relationships and conduct quarterly business review meetings.
  • Develop and implement a strategy to maximize direct shipments to distributors / global partners.
  • Minimize air freight across all departments within the company.
  • Ensure adherence to ocean/air delivery standards.
  • Enhance endtoend transportation visibility and integration with ERP systems.
  • Drive development of business and operation models, KPIs and metrics.
  • Evaluate bonded warehousing options and lead CTPAT exploration.
  • Implement shipment visibility solutions for key stakeholders throughout the supply chain including drayage.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Minimum 10 years distribution experience to include 5+ years in a Logistics leadership role and at least 5 years of Transportation experience.
  • Experience in wholesale or retail distribution and direct to consumer in an environment with fluctuating volumes.
  • Startup/project management experience.
  • Skill leading, motivating and holding accountable a network of logistics providers and internal team members.
  • Deep understanding of global logistics including duties/tariffs, network optimization, freight handling, bonded storage, customs, documentation, import/export control, and logistics vendor management.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis logistics and supply chain management or other related areas of expertise.

ADDITIONALLY:

  • Capable of operating in a fast paced, dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; Selfdriven and highly motivated.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to use tact and diplomacy communicating with all levels.
  • Excels in effective time management and able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Some domestic and international travel may be required.
