    Patent Prosecution Associate (Mechanical Engineering)

    Denver, CO [Hybrid or remote from most states available]


    OUR CLIENT

    Our client is a prominent intellectual property firm based in Denver, acknowledged as one of the Best Law Firms of 2024. This firm provides a comprehensive range of intellectual property services to in-house counsel at Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, startups, and individual inventors globally and across diverse technologies. They are currently looking for a patent prosecution associate to join their dynamic team. This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work model from the Denver office or fully remote from most states in the US. Candidates must be licensed in their respective state.


    RESPONSIBILITIES


    • Draft and prepare provisional and non-provisional patent applications and related prosecution documents
    • Analyze office actions and provide well-crafted responses
    • Create concise reporting letters outlining action from the patent office
    • Assist in drafting licensing agreements and various IP-related contracts
    • Offer advice on invention management and patent application matters
    • Conduct legal, technical, and scientific research as well as gather evidence
    • Ensure adherence to USPTO regulations for US prosecution activities
    • Communicate with clients and international counterparts
    • Expected billable hours: 1750


    REQUIREMENTS

    • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
    • USPTO practicing license
    • 2-5 years of patent prosecution experience
    • Undergraduate or graduate degree in mechanical, civil, aerospace, or metallurgical engineering


    COMPENSATION

    An estimated base compensation for this role ranges from $140,000 to $160,000 per year based on experience level. This is a full-time position with comprehensive benefits.
