    Scheduling Coordinator GI Clinic

    The GI Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and scheduling GI procedures and clinic visits for providers. This position provides excellent service to both internal and external customers by applying best practices and standard operating procedures.

    Responsibilities


    • Utilizes Epic/Optime to schedule procedures in GI Surgery, Main OR, Surgery Center, radiology and at the bedside.
    • Manages and coordinates clinic/procedure schedules for GI providers.
    • Monitors and analyzes scheduling errors to identify root cause of issues and works to implement a fix.
    • Provides support to Central Schedulers and directs scheduling process.
    • Reviews/triages NP referrals for patients seen by external GI providers.
    • Collaborates across boundaries to improve communication and operations of the department.
    • Manages and/or delegates multiple tasks simultaneously to ensure successful completion.
    • Orients/precepts newly hired scheduling coordinators.
    • Provides training and education for administrative assistants.
    • Participates in Cadence team meetings as appropriate.
    Qualifications


    Education:

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • Business-related or professional development coursework preferred.

    Required Experience:

    • Sound written and verbal communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
    • Demonstrated basic computer skills.
    • Displays a positive presence and interacts with all levels of staff, outside vendors, consultants, and physicians.
    • 4 years of previous experience in a healthcare environment, preferably as a Surgery Scheduling
    • Epic experience preferred.

    Minimum Physical Requirements:
    Occasionally 1-33% of the time (2.6 to 5.0 hours): Sitting, Decision making skills Continuously % of the time (5.1 to 12 hours or greater): Audible speech, Hearing acuity, Problem solving skills, Interpreting data skills
