    Summary:

    The Director of Digital Analytics is responsible for building and leading a team of analysts whose primary focus is driving the financial performance and operational efficiency of Resurgent's omnichannel collections strategies. The position is responsible for both direct operational and analytical excellence and driving such excellence from the team. As an analyst manager, the position is equally comfortable in a strategic brainstorming session, side-by-side SQL query troubleshooting with the team, or building data visualizations to monitor real-time performance metrics. Embodying the Resurgent values of data-driven-decision-making and right-answer-wins, this role will directly utilize advanced analytics and leverage predictive analytics to drive strategic innovations in the areas of campaign operations and website conversion with direct impacts on financial performance.

    Responsibilities:
    • Digital analytics team leadership - Leads a team of analysts supporting digital strategies and operations. Identifies when additional resources are needed and recruits, inspires, and motivates this team to aspire to the highest standards of accuracy, productivity, and efficiency. Fosters a culture of continuous improvement to maximize business strategy impact given resource availability. Ensures analyst work is prioritized in accordance with corporate strategic initiatives. Recognizes projects of significant value or risk, intervening judiciously when necessary, but empowering the team to handle projects independently to safeguard valuable time for impactful contributions.
    • Campaign decision engine ownership - Oversees the development, evolution and execution of a complex set of rules within a proprietary decision engine to administer daily campaigns to create customer engagement and elicit channel preference. Monitors and advances proprietary recommendation systems for digital campaign optimization, including the integration of predictive models. Mentors operations analysts to become self-sufficient in the management of routine and temporary changes and serves as a sounding board for more complex strategic changes. This requires deep familiarity with clickstream data, predictive analytics, machine learning and advanced mathematical concepts.
    • Strategic innovation - Collaborates with senior leadership to identify, refine, and execute upon strategic opportunities both within and adjacent to the digital collections platform. Uses existing data or controlled experimentation to ground strategic assumptions in accordance with Resurgent's culture of data-driven development. This will encompass projects in the realms of channel and content optimization, digital marketing, website analytics, automation, and financial performance.
    • Performance management - Leverages understanding of the key drivers in Resurgent's competitive allocation methodology to win digital market share in collection agency placements. Cultivates a culture of healthy rivalry where the competitive spirit breeds innovation. Designs and monitors complex experiments, evaluates results, benchmarks servicer and/or end user behavior, and makes recommendations for improvement and implementation to executives and peers. As strategies and team members mature, develops analysts in these areas while maintaining continuity of oversight. This function spans competitive performance analysis and website optimization.
    • Risk Mitigation - Considers not only value creation but regulatory, operational, and reputational risk when developing and monitoring new strategies. Given the dynamic nature of both the law and digital collections, seeks to understand not only the letter but also the spirit of regulations to proactively design for compliance.
    Technical Requirements:
    • Minimum 5 years experience in hands-on business analytics - including exploratory data analysis, strategic segmentation, financial performance modeling, time series modeling, statistical analysis, predictive analytics, data visualization.
    • Direct supervisory role - 2+ years experience mentoring, managing and developing analysts.
    • Successful history manipulating, transforming, and curating large datasets from relational database stores (10+ million records) for analytics, actionable insight, and integration into strategy. (Python, SQL, PySpark/sparkSQL)
    • Direct experience with distributed cloud computing and analytics technologies (DataBricks, Spark, Jupyter, etc.)
    • Experience with the software development lifecycle, source control/version control, and the agile methodology (CI/CD, DevOps)
    • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as PowerBI/DAX, Tableau.
    Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in data science, finance, business analytics, or similar discipline, Masters strongly preferred. Relevant work experience may substitute for advanced degrees.
    A Successful candidate will:
    • Possess demonstrated experience in business analyst capacity working in creative white space, approximating, and quantifying value add in a A/B/N format.
    • Demonstrate Intellectual curiosity. They will be intrinsically motivated to understand not just the "what" but the "why" and how it impacts the applicability of a data source on a problem.
    • Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills, clearly conveying complex concepts to a naïve audience, and tailoring communication to the appropriate audience level.
    • Proficient understanding of collections and credit/banking industries
    • Thrive in a collaborative environment, where daily interactions include team members from analytics, business intelligence, software development, product management, marketing and strategy. This person will be energized by understanding and sharing their knowledge of the upstream lineage of the data as well as the downstream usages of the data to these audiences to drive data-driven decision making and process improvements in the organization.
