Description

United Staff Group is hiring a Special Education Paraprofessional who can start now. The paraprofessional shall be working with students who requires a behavioural aide who can also provide academic support.

Responsibilities:

Provide support and assistance to special education students in a classroom setting
Assist students with daily activities, including personal care and hygiene
Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) under the guidance of the special education teacher
Collaborate with the teacher to develop and implement lesson plans and curriculum
Support students in developing academic skills, such as math and literacy education
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
Assist with behavior management strategies and interventions

Requirements:

Associate or Bachelors Degree preferred
Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
Knowledge of special education practices and strategies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed

Note:
Experience in math, curriculum development, and lesson planning are highly desirable but not required.

Job Types:
Full-time, Contract

Pay:
$ $20.25 per hour

Expected hours: 6 per week
