The Study at University of Chicago is currently seeking a full-time
House Attendant for the overnight shift to ensure a clean and comfortable experience for guests and employees. This position is primarily responsible for conducting regular deep cleaning of public areas and the back of house. They will also assist houseman with calls, stock the floors and wash small loads of laundry if needed.

Responsibilities:


  • Attends to guests' needs and requests if needed, including delivering items or occasionally servicing rooms, if needed.
  • Promptly report repairs to Engineering.
  • Move furniture and deep clean, scrub, mop and/or vacuum various areas in the building.
  • Shampoo/vacuum carpets and sofas.
  • Deep clean Truth Be Told restaurant and kitchen, laundry facility, living room and other back of house areas.
  • Performs other duties if required and as assigned, as stated above may not be inclusive of every task needed to achieve results.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Thoroughly clean and replenish guest floor landings and closets and/or support with the following tasks if needed:
  • Striping beds and make beds, changing bed linens, replace duvet covers, which may require lifting bedspreads.
  • Take used linen to the laundry chute.
  • Dust all common area furniture, baseboards, pictures, drawers, light fixtures, window ledges, and elevator landings.
  • Deep clean employee breakroom, cupboards, and refrigerator
  • Deep clean guest and back of house elevators and tracks.
  • Deep cleaning guest and employee washrooms.
  • Wash/dry linen and/or restaurant towels.
  • Assist other team members to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and the hotel.
  • Under the direction of the Housekeeping Manager, the Housekeeping House Attendant is responsible for following company standards, safety, and security procedures.
  • Must be able to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Any other duties assigned by Supervisor/Manager/Director of Rooms.

Fundamentals

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • The ability to positively communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally and/or in written form with basic English communication skills.
  • Ability to withstand continuous movement, regularly bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, and moving up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift and perform repetitive motions.
  • Strong organizational skills, including followup, time management, and multitasking, and managing multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
