We are searching for an
Events Sales Manager who can anticipate guests needs and orchestrate an unforgettable event while meeting sales goals.

This person will support our Houston properties.


Bastion Collection has conceptualized, opened and currently operates 10 restaurants across New York, Miami and Houston with a team of culinary experts and operations leaders dedicated to the highest of standards.

Our efforts and commitment for food and service excellence have been awarded with a total of 4 Michelin stars in the 2020 Michelin guide New York.

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) to bring two of their beloved New York City concepts to the Museum District
:Café Leonelli and Le Jardinier.

The two restaurants offer modern and creative cuisine, fitting with the inspiration of this addition to MFAH.

Le Jardinier, led by Michelin Star
Chef Alain Verzeroli, is based in French culinary technique and inspired by the seasonality of ingredients, utilizing each at the peak of its potential.

Chef Verzeroli's menu balances wellbeing and indulgence without compromise.

Le Jardinier provides a unique experience for customers to dine al fresco, allowing them to enjoy both the art in the Sculpture Garden as well as the artistry of the cuisine.

Cafe Leonelli offers traditional Italian cuisine in a friendly and relaxed environment.

The cafe features a convenient and accessible, buffet-style service with beloved Italian dishes, and authentic, Italian pastries from Bastion's Executive Pastry Chef and Michelin Star recipient
Salvatore Martone.


Responsibilities:


  • Generate new clients and identify/call on past and current clients directly to constantly promote events and catering functions.
  • Monitor calls, handle inquiries, and provide client proposals in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and organize all client and event files with uptodate information.
  • Negotiate prices and arrangements with clients, draw up contracts, and secure client's signature and deposit within approved booking guidelines.
  • Remain abreast of all menu and wine list changes at the restaurant. Work with the Executive Chef to establish event menus, the General Manager to ensure staffing pars, and Sommelier to ascertain appropriate wines for parties and events.
  • Attend the managers' meetings each week to update management on upcoming private parties.
  • Be in the know of major events in the city. Attend all possible networking events to prospect and qualify new business.
  • Ensure that the requisitions, equipment, supplies and services needed for each function correspond to the client's specifications, and fit within the approved booking guidelines.
  • Check with the client during the event to ensure satisfaction and to respond to any additional requests. If necessary, continually assist staff during the entire event to ensure all details are carried out according to client's specifications.
  • Prepare accurate bill to be presented to the client and ensure payment collection is fulfilled properly.
  • Produce monthly salesrelated reports and sales forecasts for assigned area of responsibility.
  • Promote teamwork by continuously communicating with restaurant management teams, accounting management, and other key company personnel.
  • Work closely with restaurant departments to facilitate services agreed upon by clients and achieve maximum results.
  • Handle complaints regarding private dining and events and take appropriate action to ensure client satisfaction in accordance with departmental policies and guidelines.
  • Respond to guest inquiries in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
  • Entertain clients in accordance with established company (and building) policies and guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • High school or equivalent education preferred.
  • Minimum of three to five (35) years of hospitality sales experience
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in clear English
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a diverse group with personnel at all levels
  • Meticulously organized and highly communicative
  • Ability to perform with only general instruction on new assignments and mínimal direction
  • Innovative problem solver
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Working knowledge of various Reservation, Point of Sale & Guest Experience Platforms
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business hours, as needed
  • Unquestionable integrity and discretion; outstanding judgement
