- Identify preauthorization or referral requirements and the corresponding processes to assure compliance.
- Research and identify payment policies from applicable insurance carriers as they relate to the specific specialty treatments, procedures, and programs prescribed to patient.
- Initiate communication with patients with a focus on patient financial obligations and available financial assistance programs if needed.
- Provide patient-focused education and counseling to maximize the patient benefits and assure timely payment for services.
- Collaborate with internal departments to identify and implement process improvements to the patient financial experience.
- Serve as a resource to project teams to assure efficient and effective billing and collection practices for new programs.
- Research best practices related to collections and patient financial communication from similar organizations and evaluate efficacy for MNGI.
- Utilize a data driven approach to identify issues and improve process efficiency while providing ongoing reporting that validates the success of the program.
- Establish and foster relationships with vendors to allow access to programs, data, and other opportunities for collaboration.

Description
Job Purpose: Responsible for obtaining Prior Authorizations for IBD Biologic Medications and other high dollar procedures and implement and maintain patient payment assistance programs associated with the treatments. The starting rate of pay for this position is between $ $24.89/hour. Where an applicant may fall on the salary range will vary based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience and education. In addition to this base salary, employees may be eligible for a bonus based on completing company, department and individual goals. This position would be eligible for medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(K) with company match and profit sharing, generous paid days off, and paid parental leave.
