Position Purpose:

Drive performance through the development of short and long-term department goals and standards for safety, ensuring that industry standards are met or exceeded, continuous improvement, quality, cost reduction, efficient utilization of resources and staff, and production efficiency.


Principle Accountabilities

  • Safety and Environmental Compliance. Ensure a safe work environment for all employees; establish, manage, and monitor standards, processes, communications, training, and systems as they relate to Environmental and Safety.
  • Sets and maintains high safety standards ensuring proper accountabilities and implementing processes to eliminate unsafe work practices. Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and the Company Health and Safety Roles and Responsibilities.
  • Manage all site safety activities, trainings, and programs.
  • Lead risk assessment and conduct internal audits for anticipating, identifying, evaluating, and eliminating hazards. This will include internal audits such as safety observations and monthly meetings as well as the development of a floor monitoring or coaching system.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the attainment of production schedules, quality goals, and safety objectives are met within deadlines given.
  • Manages all production activities performed by all production personnel while maintaining a high degree of visibility and access to staff throughout shift.
  • Allocate the appropriate resources to each project, assuring timelines will be met.
  • Continuously evaluates manufacturing operations to determine improvements through effective metrics, capital, personnel, and operational standards.
  • Partner with Project Management and Engineering to thoroughly understand the scope of projects and necessary resources.
  • Build & maintain productive employee relationships, driving employee satisfaction. Provide direction, training & development as needed.
  • Manage performance, and provide coaching, counseling, or discipline as needed for direct reports. Work with HR to address employee concerns & issues.
  • Identifies and corrects problems and inefficiencies in processes, materials, equipment, or skills.
  • Act as change agent to drive changes across the organization and provide handson leadership and mentorship to improve overall plant performance.
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture by involving employees in problemsolving and decisionmaking as well as recognizing them for exceptional work.
  • Develop and implement new business strategies for creating or improving processes and procedures to improve the plant.
  • Responsible for appropriate staff levels to meet requirements of production schedule. Lead the hiring, onboarding, and training of production personnel.
  • Enable teamwork and collaboration through informationsharing meetings with all.
  • Analyze and report on the plant's daily, monthly, and annual key performance indicators and industry.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience in capital equipment manufacturing for the packaging industry highly.
  • 5+ years of people management preferred.
  • 5+ years in Manufacturing Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of automation, packaging machinery, or machine building.
  • Strong understanding of Procurement/Supply Chain.
  • Experience managing and running safety programs.
  • Proven ability to modify, create, and establish processes and structure to drive continuous.
  • Knowledge of current OSHA regulations and all federal, state, and local workplace safety laws
  • Ability to develop and conduct training.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills

Pay:
$90, $117,695.00 per year
