Training - Media and Information Services Specialist - Library Specialization -

Start: August 2024

The Environmental Library of the UBA is the largest environmental library in the German-speaking area with approximately media units. It is divided among the various locations of the office in Dessau-Roßlau, Berlin, and Bad Elster.

Some training periods (approximately 16 weeks per training year) will be provided at the main office in Dessau-Roßlau.

An apprenticeship at the Federal Environment Agency means diversity, appreciation, and opportunities for development even during the training.

Training Focus

Procurement, indexing, provision, and dissemination of media, information, and data using modern information and communication technologies
Consultation and support of library users
Participation in exhibitions and events
Communication and project-related work

We are looking for

Applicants with at least a secondary school leaving certificate who

are responsible and committed,
have an interest in the work of the UBA and the tasks of a modern scientific library,
are communicative and interested in both traditional library tasks and the use of new electronic media,
have a high willingness to learn
