    Description

    Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (Neonatology)

    Join our Neonatology team at Utah Valley Hospital, a level II trauma center in Provo, Utah, focused on caring for critically ill newborns in need of surgery. Work alongside experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants collaborating with physicians, respiratory therapists, RNs, and other specialists.

    Being based at Utah Valley Hospital, this role may involve assignments at American Fork Hospital, a level II special care nursery. Full-time and fully benefits-eligible, with a typical schedule of 3 12-hour shifts weekly, rotating between day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. Experienced candidates can benefit from relocation assistance.

    Job Essentials

    • Accountable for patient care within licensure limits and as defined in documentation.
    • Clinical Practice:
      • Manage critically ill infants in the NICU, overseeing resuscitation, assessment, medication management, and more.
      • Order and conduct specific medical tests for NICU patients.
      • Collaborate with pediatric healthcare providers and educate caregivers.
      • Continuous learning for optimal patient care.
    • Education:
      • Provide patient education and support for families and staff.
      • Offer training to staff and students for enhanced clinical knowledge.
      • Stay updated on healthcare trends and engage in ongoing medical education.
    • Consultation/Collaboration:
      • Collaborate with care providers and share clinical information effectively.
      • Work together with other providers to enhance practice expertise.
    • Research:
      • Engage in research to promote quality patient care and best practices.
      • Support professional development through research activities.

      Minimum Requirements

      Hold a current state license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA).

      Be certified as a Physician Assistant or Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.

      Possess State Controlled Substance License II-V and Federal DEA Certificate II-V.

      Hold BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers and any other required certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP).
