The shifts are 5am-9am Monday through Friday, Saturday 6am to 10am and Sunday 7am to10am

Must be over 18 years of age
***: Responsible for the supervision of the Health and Wellness Center and communicating with the Health and Fitness Director in all information pertaining to the center. This position will be expected to promote the values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility in every activity associated with the YMCA. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Responsible for member services and facility/equipment care.
  • Conducts member orientations.
  • Maintaining the highest safety standards in every aspect of program operations.
  • Working closely with the Health and Fitness Director to ensure good communication and operations of all programs.
  • Adhering to all YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
  • Distributing all communication materials in coordination with the Health and Fitness Director.
  • Attending clinics, workshops and staff meetings as assigned by the Health and Fitness Director.
  • Maintaining accurate records for all programs.
  • Completes accident/incident reports for any occurrences while on duty.
  • Coordinating and assisting in all special events relating to the YMCA.
  • Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
  • Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
  • Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary to ensure the success of the Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum age of 18.

Certifications:
Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/AED, and First Aid certification.


  • Nationally recognized Fitness Certification or Y Foundations of Strength Certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Completion of required trainings.
  • In-Training for 60-90 days.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A commitment to continuous quality program improvements.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
  • Must be able to see, hear, direct, and assist members, guests, and staff to ensure safety
  • Able to lift and carry 15-50 lbs.
