Pipe Yard Lead

Overview:

Duties:

• Requires 35 years minimum of pipe yard experience
• Oversees all yard personnel involved in shipping, receiving, processing
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
• Provides leadership and direction in loading and unloading techniques, receiving procedures
• Yard organization, inventory control, yard and vehicle maintenance
• May assist with hiring, development, terminations, and disciplinary actions
• 40 hours per week
• Yard Supervisor reports directly to the Branch Manager

Primary Job Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Practice proper PPE compliance, maintain a positive and safe environment
• Facilitation of safety meetings
• Communicate unsafe conditions, acts or injuries to Branch Manager
• Practice proper forklift and yard vehicle operation and preventive maintenance
• Management of product rotation
• Ordering of essential warehouse and yard supplies
• Maintain yard housekeeping, organization and layout, assist with cycle counts
• Ensuring departmental policy compliance

Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent Vocational or Associates Degree

Preferred Experience:

• 35 years' experience handling pipe
• Supervisory experience

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds to a height of 6 feet
• Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in extreme temperatures
• Ability to use hands, arms and legs to physically handle and transport finished goods
• Position requires full range of body motion including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and ability to mount and dismount industrial equipment and vehicles

***Pay: $ $30.00 per hour depending on experience
