Primary Objective of Bellman Position


To serve hotel guests during their stay by making it easier and more enjoyable to arrive, check in and stay at the property.


Responsibilities

  • Welcomes and escorts guests upon arrival; exhibits courteous manners in accordance with Bartell Hotels standards.
  • Assists guests with baggage to/from the Front Office and/or Guest Rooms
  • Increases guestutilization of hotel facilities by promoting hotel restaurants and other services and facilities to guests
  • Maintains working knowledge of hotel, inhouse facilities, and local information to respond to guest questions in these areas as required
  • Stores and receives guest baggage when requested; issues completed claim checks to guests when storing baggage
  • Contacts local ground transportation, assisting guests as needed into vehicle
  • Delivers phone messages, mail or packages, candy, telegrams, flowers, etc., to guest rooms
  • Collects and returns outgoing guest laundry and dry cleaning
  • Pages guest in lobby or other areas of the hotel as needed
  • Maintains the upkeep and appearance of the hotel lobby, entrance, and baggage storage areas, to include light cleaning
  • Contributes to the overall security of the hotel by reporting any unusual occurrences to security
  • Reports entrance of unauthorized, undesirable, or suspicious people to security
  • Turns lost articles to "Lost and Found"
  • Transport hotel guests to Airport and/or local attractions in company vehicle
  • Drive company vehicle to the corporate office for interoffice mail delivery/pickup
Other duties may be assigned as needed


Physical Demands & Work Environment


While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as well as frequently lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds.

The employee must also be able to go up and down a flight of stairs while carrying 75 pounds.

The employee is sometimes exposed to outside weather conditions and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
