Client – Educational ClientJob Title – Telecommunications Attendant
Location – Palo Alto, CA – 94305
Duration – 3 Months (Possible Extension / Conversion)
Pay Range - $21/hr. - $23/hr.
About the Role:
As a Telecommunications Attendant, you will serve as the primary point of contact for the University, Medical Center, and SLAC by answering, processing, paging, and directing calls.
You will report to the Supervisor of the Operator Services Unit and work under the daily direction of the shift Lead.
This role requires handling critical calls associated with the Medical Center and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital.Responsibilities:
Provide directory listings, connect callers to appropriate departments, faculty, staff, physicians, patients, or students, and establish conference calls.
Quote long-distance calling rates, clarify system dialing capabilities, and assist with telephone and paging system usage.
Page Medical Center doctors and staff, announce pages within the Medical Center, and provide doctor-patient support during off-hours.
Dispatch medical emergency teams in response to various alerts and emergencies.
Utilize call center and collaboration applications for first call resolutions.
Perform administrative tasks such as maintaining databases, creating reports, and processing internal forms.
Participate in process and performance improvement efforts, including mentoring coworkers and suggesting improvements to processes.
Adhere to safety rules.
Education Qualification:
Experience in a customer service-oriented environment, preferably in a university or medical center setting.
Proficient telephone etiquette and communication skills in English.
Ability to interface effectively with professionals and clients.
Tact and diplomacy under pressure.
Proficiency in operating telecommunications equipment and computerized keyboard skills.
Experience with MAC or DOS systems, console operations, and automated paging systems.
Ability to work in a team environment and contribute effectively.
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of University, Medical Center, SLAC, dispatch procedures, and medical terminology.
Ability to handle high call volumes and work independently.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in typing with a rate of 40-50 words per minute.
Ability to work under pressure and maintain profession
