ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB's growing Watertown, MA team is looking for a water resources professional to join its dynamic team of Water Resource scientists and engineers and support our growing water quality and stormwater regulatory compliance work.
Responsibilities
- Provide support for stormwater regulatory compliance programs for state and local government clients
- Perform field investigations including, but not limited to, stormwater system inspections, construction site inspections, stormwater system mapping, and water quality sampling
- Develop data management tools in ArcGIS, including ArcGIS Online
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data to support water quality studies and plans
- Develop innovative approaches for internal and client workflows
- Prepare technical reports, graphics, and guidance documents
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

- Team oriented with strong capability to motivate others
- Familiarity with environmental regulations, including the Clean Water Act, Massachusetts MS4 Permit, and Massachusetts Wetland Protection Act
- Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and spatial database development a plus
- Experience with coding languages such as Python and ArcGIS Arcade a plus
- Data visualization and graphic design skills
- Familiarity with hydrologic processes, water quality treatment mechanisms, and drainage system design concepts a plus
- Ability to travel, if required
Qualifications
- BS in civil/environmental engineering, environmental science or related discipline
- 35 years of professional experience, environmental consulting experience a plus
- Experience supervising or mentoring a plus
