    The individual who holds this position will directly provide professional clinical services as authorized by the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addition Services (OMHAS) including diagnostic assessment, psychotherapy, under the supervision of a fully licensed clinical director. The candidate falls under the scope of practice of a Licensed (by the state of Ohio) therapist or counselor Board.

    The individual who holds this position will provide clinical services and plan and present age-appropriate interventions for children aged zero to 6 years of age and their families. Pipeline's programs for very young children provide a broad range of prevention services including infant/early childhood consultation and treatment; staff and parent training, crises intervention and referral services. The ECMH Clinician will perform Diagnostic Assessments, create treatment plans and offer an array of creative interventions in a play therapy mode. The candidate will work with a clinical supervisor to "grow their skills and expertise."

    This is a combination of in-office, in-school, in-home and in-community position. Telehealth services are offered when appropriate.

    Other areas of experience: Abuse Counseling, Grief, and Trauma-Focused CBT; Trauma-Focused Play Therapy; Individual, Group and Family Counseling; Sexual Abuse Counseling' Crises Intervention and Suicide Prevention; and Assessment, Diagnosis and Treatment of Mental and Emotional Disorders.

    CORE COMPETENCIES:
    • Ability to establish rapport, develop trust and build collaborative working alliances.
    • Develop and use skills and treatment protocols designed to deliver services to very young children birth to 6 years of age.
    • Familiar and competent in the use of different counseling and psychotherapy techniques.
    • Adheres to the code of counselor and social worker ethics.
    • Skillful in assessing suicidal/homicidal risk and responding appropriately.
    • Ability to identify signs of exacerbation and decompensation of mental illness and develop a plan of management which may include other team members.
    • Ability to work effectively with diversity both in clients and co-workers, including interdisciplinary teams.
    • Good communication skills – both verbal and written.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    • Provides direct mental health services, diagnostic assessment; psychological testing; individual and group psychotherapy for children with a broad range of mental disorders and developmental disabilities.
    • Maintain professional records and client histories, i.e., progress notes, consultation, prevention, and non-billable notes conforming to OMHAS standards that appropriately reflect the content of the session.
    • Initiate and maintain appropriate contact with assigned clients on a regular basis, including in -office, in-community, and school-based services; telephone calls, telehealth and scheduling as needed to keep client records current.
    • Create and maintain Diagnostic Assessments, DA Updates, Treatment Plans and Treatment Plan updates when appropriate and as needed.
    • Provide professional consultation to agencies, schools, pediatricians and other identified medical, legal and government agencies regarding client issues and programs when needed and as appropriate.
    • Meet all submission deadline dates.
    • Remain acquainted with and subject to the rules and regulations of the Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board as well as ethical guidelines of the American Counselor's Association and the National Association of Social Workers.

    EDUCATION:
    • Bachelor's degree in social with Ohio LSW; or,
    • Master's degree in counseling or social work and license as LISW, LISW-S, LPC, LPCC, or, LPCC-S.
    • May be Registered as a Counselor Trainee or a Social Worker Trainee in Pipeline's Internship Program.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Broad theoretical knowledge in child development, developmental disabilities and psychopathology preferred.
    • One to two years' verifiable experience in counseling and psychotherapy with children and adolescents, preferred.
    • Ability to work with a wide range of resource professionals, Psychiatrists, Legal Advocates and Community Support Specialists
    • Must have valid Ohio Driver's License with less than four (4) points on driving record and current automobile insurance – which meets state minimum requirements.

    SALARY:$50 TO $60 Per hour (or higher) for Direct Service, depending on Licensure

    This is a contract position. No medical or other benefits are offered.
