3.0 Position Summary


This position is based in the branch office and manages and coordinates Petroleum Inspector's day-to-day related activities that are necessary for the effective completion of quantity and sampling requirements initiated from the Branch Offices.

4.0 Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of three years relevant and increasingly responsible experience in field inspection positions in the petroleum industry, with an emphasis in the loss control area.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and maintain professional relationships with numerous clients (customers, suppliers, terminals).
  • Must pass pulmonary test for respirator use. Must maintain a valid Transportation Worker's Identification Card (TWIC).
5.0 Responsibilities

  • Acts as the Point of Contact for communicating all business information between the field inspectors and respective Customer Coordinator, Operations Manager and/or Branch Manager including resolutions of problems arising in the field.
  • Uses judgment and discretion in directing, coordinating and scheduling the work activities of Field Inspectors consistent with accepted operating practices and procedures, including periods during nonworking hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Ensures that instructions to the Field Inspectors, as provided by the Customer and/or Customer Coordinator are fully communicated and followed.
  • Requests the necessary analytical tests from the Laboratory Manager or Coordinator based on the requirements of the Customer's nomination.
  • Using advanced knowledge gained in the field, identifies the root causes of quality system problems (customer, terminal or Camin Cargo system) in respective areas of responsibility and uses good judgment to independently troubleshoot, initiate, recommend, and/or implement timely solutions to the problems.
  • Has the authority to call in additional Field Inspectors to work to meet customer requirements.
  • Receives, analyzes, compiles, and verifies data resulting from field inspections for quality and completeness. Ensures field inspections and documentation are completed as per specific job instructions and accepted operating practices.
  • Attends and participates in management meetings.
  • Occasionally performs field audits, field inspections, sampling and other related activities determined by the Inspector Coordinator.
  • Conducts probe checks and tape verifications as necessary for quality and completeness.
6.0 Fitness for Duty - Physical Demands

Workday may consist of 8-12 hours; however, this can vary day to day or shift to shift.

Much of the work is performed outdoors, wearing full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and could include possible exposure to high and low temperatures for prolonged duration of time.

Work may be performed during day or nighttime hours and may involve working alone.
