JOB SUMMARY:


  • Engage students with a strong working knowledge of high school social studies curriculum
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conduct individual and small group instruction as needed
  • Integrate the hallmarks of projectbased learning including connecting authentic work to the community and public displays and connections of student processes and products
  • Possess a proven ability to teach and interact effectively with students and their families who represent cultures that are diverse
  • Recognize trauma's impact on the brain and how to support and be responsive to all learners
  • Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete recordkeeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
  • Collaborate with department and gradelevel peers in professional learning teams
