Dual Recovery Coordinator - Hauppauge, United States - FAMILY SERVICE LEAGUE
Description
The Dual Recovery Coordinator will assist community agencies in improving their capacity to provide quality service to individuals with both mental illness and substance use disorder.
This is a pass-through position with Family Service League, and work is performed under the supervision of Suffolk County Division of Community Mental Hygiene.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify workforce training needs, and facilitate crossagency and crossdiscipline competencybased staff development;
- Coordinate and facilitate a crosssystem workgroup for providers to collaboratively develop solutions to systemic challenges;
- Assess the need for other specialized services for dually diagnosed clients;
- Arrange and/ or provide trainings to county and community agencies and organizations regarding issues specific to individuals affected by cooccurring disorders;
- Develop a resource guide to support staff development programs;
- Craft and disseminate accessible guidance documents to support educational activities;
- Measure the outcomes of system and client changes;
- Provide trainings and presentations to agency providers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's Degree in Human Services and Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) preferred; OR
- Bachelor's degree with demonstrated relevant training experience plus CASAC considered;
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
- Knowledge of the unique local conditions impacting dually diagnosed individuals and available resources;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Effective research and presentation skills;
- Ability to promote collaboration amongst individuals and organizations;
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships across programs, providers, and agencies;
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, related tools, and database management programs.
Note:
Work hours are generally 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday. The position requires some flexibility for trainings and may include occasional evenings.
Pay:
From $62,000.00 per year
