- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' substance use history, mental health status, and treatment needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, incorporating evidence-based interventions and goals for recovery.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions using a variety of therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
- Monitor clients' progress throughout treatment, adjusting interventions and goals as needed to support successful outcomes.
- Collaborate with other members of the treatment team, including nurses, and case managers, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for clients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in accordance with regulatory standards and agency policies.
- Participate in regular supervision, staff meetings, and continuing education opportunities to enhance clinical skills and stay current with best practices in addiction treatment.
- Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field (preferred).
- Licensure or certification as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), or similar credential in Maryland.
- Certified as a CAC-AD, CSC-AD or ADT by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.
- Minimum of two years of experience providing counseling or therapy to individuals with substance use disorders in an outpatient setting (preferred).
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices for addiction treatment, including CBT, MI, and DBT.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to develop individualized treatment plans based on clients' needs and goals.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation and record-keeping practices within an EHR.
- Commitment to maintaining ethical standards and confidentiality in all aspects of client care.
