- Governed by the Collective Agreement between TransAlta and the IUOE (Local 612-B)
- Follows a Monday to Thursday, 10 hr work schedule (subject to change based on business needs)
- Hourly rate of $36.91 with eligibility for overtime, as required
- Safety-sensitive position therefore successful completion of pre-employment testing is a condition of employment
- Responsible to improve availability and the effective use of resources by:
- Regularly work 10-hour days (current job schedule is 10 - hour days, Monday through Thursday.
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to hear clearly (corrected or uncorrected)
- Must possess good visual acuity (corrected or uncorrected)
- Ability to understand and follow mine safety and mine production policies and procedures
- Must be able to consistently work in safe manner
- Regularly maneuver steps to mount and dismount all sizes of dozers
- Occasional lifting of 30-40 lbs
- Must be able to attend job reliably
- Ability to work in extreme mining conditions.
- Must be able to utilize, change files on the Computer Assisted Earthwork System. (C.A.E.S.)
- Must have the skills to build flat bottom contour ditches, V - contour ditches.
- Must be able to read grade stakes.
- Driving experience on large industrial trucks
- Dozer ,Excavator and Articulating Dump truck experience a plus
