Basic Function:
The Materials Inventory Administrator is responsible for meeting all of the same requirements as theMaterials Inventory Technician Levels I through III plus the following additional responsibilities:

  • The day-to-day evaluation, replenishment and accuracy of Materials Inventory stock.
  • Accountable for ensuring the warehouse is organized for efficient and logical flow as well assound business judgement to standardize procedures and exercise best practices to supportenterprise growth.
  • Where there is no Site Supervisor position, the Administrator is also responsible for MaterialsInventory operational activities for the location, including ensuring proper resources are availableand assisting in organizing personnel to complete work in a timely, cost effective manner.
  • Maintaining best practices and processes through communication to the site personnel.

Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Proficient in Technician Skills as identified in Materials Inventory Technician Levels I through III.
  • Evaluates Catalog material requests for adding, changing, extending and deleting stock materialand is the site MRP approver for MDG technical material requests.
  • Performs Followup activities with Reliability on changes to stocked spare parts.
  • Replenishes stock using SAP reorder methods, including the review of MRP and/or CollectiveRequisition processing.
  • Communicates daily with procurement group to expedite and maintain current status onwarehouse PO's.
  • Evaluates and refines inventory levels to support the long term goals of inventory reduction andelimination for optimum inventory levels. Participates in Working Capital Program reviews andcoordinates inventory writeoffs.
  • Processes returns of unused stock and manages "Multiple Returns" followup with Site Clients.
  • Coordinates cyclical inventories and Delegation of Authority approvals for adjustment posting.
  • Evaluates, reconciles and coordinates with suppliers and accounts payable to correct invoicingissues.
  • Identifies and resolves discrepancies regarding upgrades for material and descriptions.
  • Provides strategic evaluation of material to determine obsolescence and/or replacement
  • Integration link to Designated SAP / IS including "Superuser" status for MaterialsInventory/Management module; Includes Training Role for MM Personnel and Site Clients
  • Delegated authority to act on behalf of Materials Inventory supervisor for specific site as needed
  • Initiates various reports in SAP for material evaluation and monthly performance measurements
  • Daily interaction with customers, including Maintenance, Engineering and Operations

Qualifications:


  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 years warehouse and inventory experience required with an indepth
understanding of all aspects of inventory management identified in Technician Levels I through III.

  • Familiarity with Materials Inventory industry best practices including Integrated Suppliers, Vendor Stocking, Electronic Commerce (including EDI), Stockless Inventory, Barcoding and Supply Chain Management. Leadership skills, teambuilding, communication and problem solving skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of an Enterprise wide computer system to effectively manage inventory levels.
  • General knowledge of inventory management including inventory evaluation and analysis.
  • Understanding of business processes and procedures, materials inventory and purchasing processes and work flows, and demonstrates through work history a pattern of actively seeking continuous improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership attributes are key to the ability to manage the daytoday activity and implement long range goals.
