The Swiss Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up and maintaining equipment in a process.

The operator will ensure systems run smoothly and have an eye for quality and strong working knowledge of machines' capabilities.

Hanel provides training regarding basic safety, machine operation, quality, production goals, work policies and machine fault resolution.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operates and setsup a variety of machine tool equipment including numerically controlled Swiss Style machines plus other hand and power equipment of similar complexity.
  • Secures and fixtures raw stock of material into machine, squares material prior to running program if necessary, and monitors the operating of the machine to ensure proper program performance.
  • Ensures machine and area around machine is kept as clean as practical.
  • Perform machine changeovers and change tool inserts as needed.
  • Deburs completed machine parts as time allows.
  • Operates CNC machine in a safe manner.
  • Perform Quality Control Characteristics documentation of tolerance zones specified on blueprints.
  • Notifies lead of major malfunctions or when machine maintenance is needed.
  • Recognizes and remedies minor machine malfunctioning or cutting action of tools.
  • CNC Machine Operator Qualifications.

  • Monitor and maintain CNC equipment, manual and automatic gauging systems, robots, gantrys and material handling systems operations
  • Perform adjustments to machines and tooling to keep parts within allowable tolerances
  • Responsible for reporting the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective device of which the worker is aware

Education And Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Willing to train on the job
