    Job Description and Duties

    Positions at the Water Boards may be eligible for telework with in-person attendance based on the operational needs of the position.

    The State Water Resources Control Board's Office of Research, Planning, and Performance has an opening for a Research Data Specialist II in the Water Conservation Unit. Join a team doing exciting work to implement a new way of managing urban water use across the state. You would lead efforts to evaluate water conservation impacts on water, wastewater, and recycled water systems, support the implementation of water conservation and efficiency actions and regulations, and serve as a resource to the unit for statistical analysis, survey design, data science, and quality assurance.

    Telework may be possible. The position is located at 1001 I Street, 13th Floor, Sacramento, right in the heart of downtown next to light rail stations and other public transportation.

    Candidates must possess essential personal qualifications including integrity, initiative, dependability, good judgment, the ability to work cooperatively with others, and the ability to perform the assigned duties of the class.

    Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.

    An applicant with a college degree obtained outside the United States that does meet accreditation standards must have education records evaluated by a credentials evaluation service.
