Journey Hospice has a rewarding and fulfilling position for a per diem (as needed) Chaplain to serve our clients in the Cumberland County area. This position requires day time availability (during the week).
Responsible for the provision of non-denominational spiritual care services to patients, families, significant others and/or caregivers.

The services are provided either directly or through coordination of care with other spiritual counselors that may include community clergy.

Basic Qualifications


Education/Training/Certifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of theology required


Clinical pastoral education training:
with a minimum of 2 to 4 CPE credits obtained from an accredited program preferred.

Valid Drivers license and reliable transportation that is insured in accordance with NJ requirements.


Skill(s):Skills and Knowledge**:


  • Must maintain a professional attitude and demeanor and is able to communicate effectively and relate courteously and cooperatively with patients, caregivers, colleagues, supervisors and coworkers and all others.
  • Must be able to demonstrate optimism, enthusiasm and willingness to work constructively with other healthcare team members and reflect concern for the wellbeing of patients and employees.
  • Interacts with all staff in a positive and motivational fashion supporting the mission and vision of the organization.

Experience:


  • Training/Experience dealing with grief and bereavement counseling.
  • Minimum one year experience in providing ecumenical approach in pastoral care and client/family counseling.
  • Experience in home health or hospice preferred.
Must demonstrate the ability to be able to work within a multidisciplinary team
