Journey Hospice has a rewarding and fulfilling position for a per diem (as needed) Chaplain to serve our clients in the Cumberland County area. This position requires day time availability (during the week).
Responsible for the provision of non-denominational spiritual care services to patients, families, significant others and/or caregivers.

The services are provided either directly or through coordination of care with other spiritual counselors that may include community clergy.

Basic Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of theology required

Clinical pastoral education training:
with a minimum of 2 to 4 CPE credits obtained from an accredited program preferred.

Valid Drivers license and reliable transportation that is insured in accordance with NJ requirements.

Skill(s):Skills and Knowledge**:

Must maintain a professional attitude and demeanor and is able to communicate effectively and relate courteously and cooperatively with patients, caregivers, colleagues, supervisors and coworkers and all others.
Must be able to demonstrate optimism, enthusiasm and willingness to work constructively with other healthcare team members and reflect concern for the wellbeing of patients and employees.
Interacts with all staff in a positive and motivational fashion supporting the mission and vision of the organization.

Experience:

Training/Experience dealing with grief and bereavement counseling.
Minimum one year experience in providing ecumenical approach in pastoral care and client/family counseling.
Experience in home health or hospice preferred.

Must demonstrate the ability to be able to work within a multidisciplinary team
