on Wednesday and Friday afternoons (2:30-5:30 p.m.)

Summary of Position:

The Middle School at Milton Academy is seeking a Softball coach for the spring season. Daily practices run from 2:30 p.m.

3:30 p.m. and game days are scheduled on Wednesdays and Fridays. The season begins on March 4 and concludes on May 24. There are no weekend commitments.

This is a seasonal position for the spring 2024 school year. May be eligible for renewal depending on school needs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Organizing practices to help improve fundamental skills and motivating studentathletes.
Traveling to and from home/away games with the team.
Communicating with the Middle School Athletic Director throughout the season.
Providing strategy, physical training, and techniques to help their studentathletes reach individual and team success.

Experience

Required:

Coaching experience that makes training fun, teaches good sportsmanship and basic skills, and gives every child the opportunity to participate.

Preferred:

Experience coaching middle school level children.

Competencies

Required:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external constituencies.
Understanding of confidentiality and related issues.
Receptive to supervision and professional development.
Desire to be a part of a dynamic educational community.

Physical Abilities

Required:

Must be able to work at a computer for up to 8 hours each day in conjunction with OSHA requirements.
Must be able to move around the Milton Academy campus without restriction.
Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
