Cornerstone Office Manager


Founded in 1981, NIA Community Services Network is a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing issues that impact youth, families, and seniors.

NIA's mission, to strengthen and empower children, families, and communities through comprehensive programming and vital human services, is evidenced each day through programming that directly supports and enriches the lives of children and families we serve at nearly 50 sites located across many of New York City's most diverse and underserved neighborhoods through after-school programs, summer day camps, cultural arts opportunities, youth and family counseling services, parent workshops, community assistance, referral services, senior support programs, and community events.


Cornerstone Programs are located in NYCHA community centers throughout New York City and provide academic and recreational opportunities for children, teens and adults.

The center offers services every weekday from 10:00am to 10:00pm, Saturdays from 10:00am to 5:00pm, and during extended hours during the summer and on school holidays.

The Cornerstone
Office Manager will be responsible for administrative tasks and program support duties for a Cornerstone community center.


Responsibilities:


  • Prepare program documents, correspondence, flyers, information packets, etc.
  • Assist with management of the community center's scheduling and calendar.
  • Manage data entry requirements, including daily attendance and activity schedules in funder's database.
  • Support program compliance through detailed management of log books/visitors log, NYCHA log, activity schedules, signin sheets, fire drill log, referral log, and other required documents on site.
  • Assist in managing program records, including staff and participant files.
  • Assist with fielding program phone calls and receiving program visitors as needed; represent the program in a welcoming and professional manner.
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with supervisors.
  • Assist with the inventory, ordering, and maintenance of office and classroom supplies and program equipment.
  • Assist with building management duties as needed.
  • Attend trainings and staff meetings as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success and smooth operation of the Cornerstone program.

Qualifications:


  • Prior administrative experience is required.
  • Familiarity with DYCD programming and DYCD Connect database, NYCHA housing developments, and community programming is preferred.
  • Must be computer proficient.
  • Must be well written and communicate professionally.
  • Must be punctual and reliable; Must be available to maintain a fulltime work schedule, within the operating hours of the Cornerstone program, including weekend coverage as needed.
  • The ability to work independently, assess priorities, take initiative, be flexible, and thrive under pressure while working on multiple tasks and projects.
  • Must successfully complete NYC DOH Fingerprinting Screening; New York State Register Clearance
**This is a full-time position with a starting salary of $45,000 - $50,000, depending upon experience.
