Job Opportunity:

Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour

Status: Open Until June 30, 2024

This job is part of the Recreation Department and you'll be reporting to a supervisor as directed by the Department Head.

Monitor activity in parks and recreational facilities and ensure compliance with city ordinances and department policies.
Coordinate work schedule to align with pavilion, field, and rentals of other park amenities, providing friendly and timely customer service.
Assist with activities at Franklin Gateway Sports Complex, special events, and other department activities and programs.
Perform light maintenance around recreational areas like trash removal, sweeping/blowing, and quick repairs.
Ensure security and safety of facilities, playgrounds, and courts while patrolling.
Enforce city-wide ordinances, rules, and regulations.
Greet and provide facility/department information to the general public both in person and via phone and email.
Handle customer issues and concerns regarding parks, facilities, and events.
Resolve problems professionally and proactively.
Perform facility opening and closing procedures when needed.
Provide routine maintenance assistance including litter pick-up, cleaning of restrooms, and light cleaning.
Regularly monitor and inspect facilities to ensure patron safety.
Assist with the implementation of department events, programs, and activities.
Stay informed about issues and events within the facilities, department, and community.

Preferred Qualifications:

High school graduate or GED.
Current CPR/First Aid or AED Certification or ability to obtain prior to employment.
Must have a valid Georgia driver's license and a satisfactory seven-year driving history.
Knowledge of indoor and outdoor sports and games rules.
Ability to plan and organize recreational activities.
Experience in supervising seasonal employees.
Ability to interact effectively and courteously with the public.

This job may require working varied hours throughout the week, including nights and weekends.
