T Magazine is looking for a designer to join our award-winning design team.
You will assist and execute creative design across print and digital in collaboration with the art director and creative director.
You have a portfolio that shows a deep working knowledge of design principles, being able to design across multiple platforms while maintaining consistency across all projects.
You are expected to share creative ideas and can work collaboratively.This is a hybrid position. You will report to the Creative Director of T Magazine.
Responsibilities:
- Propose and develop front of book and back of book magazine layouts under direction from the creative and art directors
- Sketch and mockup digital assets for T Magazine's online section (including interactives, collages, toppers, banners)
- Partner with production department for general production efforts including color correction
- Provide design support on occasional print activations and events
- Initiate and coordinate with external digital designers and programmers
- Adapt, iterate and finalize formats and templates for print and digital properties, including new and prospective rubrics
- Manage and follow design deadlines, both internal and external, in conjunction with directives from editorial teams
- Contribute to overall positive functioning of art department, including updating print and digital layout spaces (ie print wall room and digital wall)
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have knowledge of Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Intermediate to knowledge of Figma and After Effects
- Intermediate knowledge of print production
- Must love type design and experimentation
- Flexible point of view when needed
- Able to follow up and chase when needed 2+ years of experience
- Interest in animation
- Experience with UX design
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest in animation
- Knowledge/experience of UX design
The annual base pay salary for this role is between $111,711.62 and $112,000.00.
The Company will further consider qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with the requirements of applicable "Fair Chance" laws.
