    Title I - After School Program Specialist @ After School Program
    Primary Purpose:

    To assist in curriculum alignment and management of Alief ISD After School Programs .
    Qualifications:

    Education/Certification:
    • Bachelor's degree
    • Certified teacher
    Special Knowledge/Skills:
    • Knowledge of district budgeting procedures preferred
    • Knowledge of childcare provider software preferred
    • Desire to work collaboratively with campus personnel and service providers
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong human relation skills
    • Ability to train afterschool program staff
    Experience:
    • Minimum of three (3) years' teaching experience
    • Experience with at-risk youth and families preferred
    • Experience in after-school setting, teaching, counseling, social work, and/or other related areas
    • Experience with budgeting and project leadership preferred
    Major Responsibilities and Duties:
    Program Management
    • Ensure quality, timely delivery, and implementation of all curriculum tools. Prepare and/or refurbish kits as needed.
    • Serve as a liaison and resource between school day teachers and district curriculum; afterschool teachers and grant and ASP project plan.
    • Facilitate training, technical assistance and one-on-one coaching sessions for afterschool staff.
    • Assist with classroom walk-throughs to ensure and evaluate the effectiveness.
    • Assist in ensuring a system for measuring outcomes and use that information for on-going program planning, improvement and evaluation.
    • Create and maintain an After School Program (ASP) database.
    • Assist with monitoring revenue, expenditure and profit and loss for ASP.
    • Create purchase orders, check requisitions, and budget amendments as needed.
    • Assist with special event programming, field trips, and guest speakers.
    • Assist and relieve supervisor of paperwork and impediments so that he/she may devote maximum attention to the central problem of administering quality After School Programs.
    Other
    • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
    • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
    • Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.
    • Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Evaluation

    Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of Non-Instructional Paraprofessional Personnel.

    Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

    Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals

    Posture: Standing, prolonged sitting, occasional kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing pulling, and twisting

    Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; may also require climbing stairs and reaching over head

    Lifting: Frequent moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds); May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying pounds)

    Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel; all campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors

    Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
