About Us:


Arabesque Conservatory of Music is pleased to extend its educational offerings to include ceramics, tailored specifically for individuals with special needs.

Our mission is to foster creativity and skill development through personalized, therapeutic ceramics instruction.

We are searching for passionate, skilled, and experienced Ceramics Instructors to provide both in-home and on-site instruction as part of our contract-based program.


Position Overview:


Key Responsibilities:


  • Design and implement personalized ceramics lesson plans that cater to the individual needs and goals of each student.
  • Teach various ceramics techniques, such as handbuilding, coiling, pinching, and wheel throwing, adapting your teaching style to each student's abilities and interests.
  • Provide supportive and adapted instruction to ensure a safe, engaging, and productive learning environment.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional techniques and lesson plans as necessary to maximize learning and enjoyment.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents, guardians, and program coordinators to discuss student progress and strategies for further development.
  • Stay informed about the latest educational strategies and safety practices in ceramics, particularly as they relate to individuals with special needs.

Qualifications:


  • Proven experience as a Ceramics Instructor, with a strong portfolio demonstrating a wide range of techniques and styles.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with special needs is highly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • A patient, adaptive, and nurturing approach to instruction.
  • Must have reliable transportation for inhome visits and travel to onsite locations.
  • Availability to commit to a contract position with flexible scheduling based on program and student needs.

Contract Details:


  • Instructors are expected to provide their own tools and materials necessary for ceramics instruction, unless otherwise provided at onsite facilities.
