Senior Linux System Engineer (m/f/d)

Full-time, permanent position · Cologne Your Responsibilities

  • Managing the system administrators within the "Cloud Based Platforms" competence team
  • Designing and further developing our automation and container-based solutions
  • Planning, developing, optimizing, and implementing individual system solutions for our business and education clients
  • Securing and hardening central and decentralized Linux systems
  • Monitoring provided services
  • Creating scripts and playbooks for automation solutions in the server environment
  • Driving digitalization in the education sector
  • Willingness to occasionally participate in on-call duty

Your Profile

  • You have completed an apprenticeship as an IT specialist (or equivalent) and have at least 5 years of professional experience
  • You have several years of experience in managing and operating Linux systems
  • You have knowledge of automating processes using Ansible or similar tools
  • You have a good technical understanding, a strong service and solution orientation, and a structured and careful way of working
  • You work well independently as well as in a team
    Fluent German language skills are required
