- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Provide direct instruction to students, adapting teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
- Assess students' academic progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with parents, general education teachers, and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Utilize assistive technology and adaptive materials to enhance student engagement and accessibility
- Implement behavior management strategies and support students' social-emotional development
- Keep accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, IEP goals, and instructional strategies
- Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in special education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education
- Valid California teaching credential in Special Education
- Experience working with students with special needs in a school setting
- Knowledge of various instructional strategies, assessments, and accommodations for students with diverse learning needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
