- Project lead in engineering and industrialization of processes and equipment
- Project responsibility (design, planning, timing, cost)
- Apply and implement new production technologies, provides a technical development of the existing processes and provides a technical support to production
- Assist in design, implement and improvement of instruments, equipment and systems for commercial and industrial electrode production
- Assist in the coordination of manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements
- Ability to complete (PIDs) for existing and new processes
- Maintain departmental records for all programs, projects, and monthly reports
- Propose improvements of the technical efficiencies of the production facilities
- Optimize production by analyzing processes and compiling de-bottleneck studies.
- Analyze and solves technical problems in production, with the support of other services: maintenance, laboratory, logistics, etc.
- Manage operations of electrode pilot plant and product manufacturing to meet production targets for battery cells and finished products
- Improve pilot plant throughput and yield through collaborative work with equipment, manufacturing process, and technology engineers
- Manage procurement with internal and external high-volume partners
- Document, Control and Increase Capability for pilot operations cell and product processes
- Develop and advance internal systems to improve quality, improve yield, and facilitate ERP / Production Control / Inventory business processes
- Mentor and develop professional direct reports; develop a can-do culture throughout the pilot plant operations
- Develop operating budgets, resource plans, and manage spending to budget for pilot operations
- Develop strategic plans for pilot operations to serve evolving needs for new technology and product introductions
- Manage resources by planning, scheduling and forecasting manpower, raw materials, and resource requirements
- Interview, hire, train, mentor, and evaluate employee performance
- Prepare budgets, and forecasts
- Responsible for the qualification of the pilot equipment and its documentations
- Provide advice on equipment start-up, characterization, qualification, and/or release
- Applies and implements new production technologies, provides a technical development of the existing processes and provides a technical support to production
- Implements solutions in case of quality, quantities, and costs deviation
- 5 years manufacturing experience in engineering and/or production environment
- Direct supervision of non-exempt operations personnel and professionals
- Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods
- Statistical Process Control, six-sigma, and Improvement of manufacturing unit processes and end of line integrated tests
- Management of externals engineering companies
- Project Management
- Experience with ERP and MES systems, inventory transactions, production planning.
- Hands-on laboratory or production experience working with materials, chemicals, and assembly operations
- Prior battery experience preferred
- A degree in a science or engineering field is required
- Experience in Manufacturing Process Engineering and interfacing with Technology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

For our new facility in Holland, Michigan, Natron Energy is seeking a Director in our operations team to lead all aspects of Engineering and Electrode Pilot Plant operations.
This position will be responsible for the pilot plant throughput to meet introductory customer demand, product and technology qualification, and development trials for existing and new electrode products.
This position will be responsible for meeting quality and yield targets, working with equipment and manufacturing engineering resources to introduce new processes, new equipment and improving existing operations.
This position will also work closely with our contractor manufactures, as well as internal teams, for new product introductions.Qualified applicants will have a hands-on / on the floor approach to managing production, preferably in the field of batteries or industrial electronic hardware manufacturing and have strong people management and communication skills.
The person for this position has a positive, team-first attitude, mentors direct reports, leads by example, and is willing to learn and master new technology.
