    Job Description

    At the intersection of operations and development, the Site Reliability Engineers (SRE) will use their software development skills and operational best practices to ensure our services are deployed to meet our customers objectives.

    SREs, in conjunction with development and operations, will develop technical best practices and implementation techniques to meet Service Level Objectives (SLO) to drive the success of our customers.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with development and operations teams to design, construct and deploy customer solutions
    • Develop automation, processes and tools with the goal of increasing availability, maintaining performance and managing capacity
    • Provide architectural guidance with an eye towards availability, security and performance
    • Develop and enhance tools to improve observability of systems and services
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to design, create and maintain public and private cloud infrastructure
    • Establish SLO/SLI metrics to drive the success of our customers
    • Train operational and development staff on tools, architectures and process created to drive our company's success
    • Maintain SRE tools and evangelize their importance in reliability
    • Champion Infrastructure as code and configuration management

    Requirements

    • 3+ years at a managed service provider
    • 3+ years developing automated solutions for deployment using custom, open source and commercial tools
    • 3+ years of Linux/Windows administration
    • 2+ years in an IT operational or software development roll
    • Proficient least 1 modern programming language (python, Javascript, perl, ruby, go, etc.)
    • Experience with Agile and software development processes
    • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Salt, etc.
    • Experience with Monitoring solutions (Nagios, Elasticsearch, Datadog, etc.)
    • Knowledge of build and pipeline tools (Bamboo, Azure Devops, CircleCI, etc.)
    • Knowledge of serverless computing architecture (Lambda, Azure functions)
    • 1-2 years with a public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP)
    • Experience with ITIL practices and procedures
