**BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIANDetox Technician -Substance Abuse Technician
New Method Wellness, in San Juan Capistrano, has multiple Behavioral Health Tech positions available
Position:
Behavioral Health Technician
Salary:
$18 - $20 / hour
and Part Time
Compensation package includes health, vision, dental, and 401k with company match.
Summary:
New Method Wellness is a Drug and Alcohol Treatment Facility located in San Juan Capistrano, accredited by CARF, the Joint Commission and DHCS.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete new admission intake procedures according to program policies on all new admissions (UA, belongings searches, and paperwork).
- Assist with medication counts
- Facilitate and document groups from the curriculum provided.
- Documentation of daily progress in client charts.
- Support Clinical program with overall monitoring and support of clients.
- Crisis intervention
- Collect urine samples for testing.
- Assist, teach and/or supervise clients with general household chores, cleanliness, and food preparation; clean up as required.

- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong listening skills, particularly when clients are conveying their needs.
- Communicates professionally in person and on the phone
- Treats others with respect
- Communicates openly and honestly
- Resolves conflicts in a positive way
- Expresses facts and thoughts in writing in a clear and organized way
- Written communication skills: documents daily progress in client charts.
- Computer Skills: Google drive and digital documentation
Knowledge:
- An understanding of chemical dependency
- An understanding of the 12 Step process
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and privacy measures
Abilities:
- Flexibility: Openness to different and new ways of doing things
- Willingness to modify one's preferred way of doing things
- Attend all state and companymandated training
- Attend all mandatory staff meetings
- Demonstrates the ability to complete rounds by monitoring clients throughout the facility
- Comes to work on time every day. Is fully prepared and ready to work at beginning of the work schedule and continues until the workday is done
- Makes appropriate arrangements when adverse weather or other problems might delay ontime arrival
- Conforms to work hours and schedule
- Alerts the supervisor of unexpected problems that cause absence, lateness, or the need to leave early
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of experience in a human services setting
- Clean DMV Record and/or accordance with program requirements
- Valid Driver's License Current certification in First Aid/CPR Flexibility with hours and scheduling
- High School diploma, or GED equivalent. Must be legally able to work in the United States
- If in recovery, must have a minimum of 1 year of sobriety
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with chemically dependent individuals
- Experience in a detox/residential treatment facility
- Passionate about helping people recover
- Shows initiative in seeking solutions to problems
- Demonstrates selfawareness and is open to feedback from others
- Has a reputation for giving great service to clients and coworkers
Salary:
$18 - $20 / hour
