Pasco County BOCC Utilities Water & Wastewater O & M is seeking to hire an applicant that is experienced in advanced supervisory work in coordinating, supervising, instructing and participating with key personnel and /or contractors in the maintenance, fabrication, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment related to Treatment plant facilities and all related equipment.
Job assignments include, but are not limited to the following: Plans, organizes, participates and directs the work of key personnel and /or contractors in the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of pumps, motors, pipework, electrical and all appurtenances to Water / Wastewater / Reclaim treatment facilities.
Submits requisitions for equipment and materials, reviews work orders for priority, clarity, and completeness. Distributes and completes work orders (CMMS) to appropriate personnel.
Installs, overhauls, repairs, services, and maintains equipment such as, but not limited to pumps, motors, gas and diesel engines, meters, gauges, compressors, blowers, valves, back checks and any other equipment as needed.
Assists Labor Supervisors, Treatment Plant Mechanic trainees / Plant Mechanics and others as applicable.Performs potable water, wastewater, and reclaimed water installation, repair, maintenance, and inspection activities. Ensures reliability of emergency power generation/pumping and transfer equipment tests. Maintains all treatment facilities, housekeeping, vehicle and grounds maintenance. Performs related work as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
PHYSICAL SKILLS:
Ability to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds and also push or pull heavy objects.
May use a handling device (dolly, cart, etc.) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessively heavy objects.
Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication. Ability to frequently bend, climb, stoop, squat, and walk. Must pass pulmonary function test and fit test within 60 days if required. Position may require to be clean shaven in order to meet safety requirements.EDUCATION,
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
Four (4) years of directly related experience in industrial or commercial mechanical/electrical maintenance and repairs and/or water, wastewater or reclaim water field maintenance.
LICENSES,CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:
Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
Must obtain a valid Florida "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement within six (6) months from date of hire.
Must obtain FWPCOA (A) Wastewater Collection Technician Certification within five (5) years from date of hire. Must obtain a Confined space Certification within three (3) months from date of hire.Must obtain and maintain a Mobile Crane Signal, Mobile Crane Rigging and Mobile Crane Operators Certificates within one (1) year from date of hire.
