THE POSITION:


Do you have a keen eye for detail? Do you have experience working with vendors to meet their procurement needs? The Department of Revenue is seeking a dedicated Purchasing Agent to join us in the Bureau of Fiscal Management, Budget Division.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:


  • In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and verifying purchasing requisitions for contract and noncontract supplies or services, reviewing DGS website to ensure most up to date contracts and price guides are available, preparing purchasing documents in the database, and generating reports. You will have the opportunity to contact vendors to verify current pricing and obtain quotes, handle complaints and adjustments, expedite delivery of critical items, and verify they are in compliance with all state taxes.

Work may also include:

  • Maintaining record of Mastercard orders
  • Notifying bureaus when purchasing orders are complete
  • Reconciling charges in the system
  • Reviewing need requests and gathering necessary data
  • Serving as advisor for RFP Committee

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Fulltime employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday
  • Friday, with 30minute lunch.

Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. You will be required to report in-office at the minimum of one day per month. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • Three years of experience in purchasing work involving contact with vendors in the procurement of a variety of supplies, materials, equipment, or services;
    or:
  • Three years of experience in requisitioning, receiving, storing, distributing, and maintaining inventory of goods;
    or:
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training. Posthigh school education may be substituted on a yearforyear basis for purchasing or stores experience to a maximum of two years.
